All 300 feathers are sewn together forming the covering that will be used on the sculptural iron bed piece. I can’t wait to get the pieces of the bed out of the shed and assemble it again and see if it looks as I imagine in my mind with the feathers. A friend who is an excellent photographer has agreed to help me photograph the fully assembled piece so I’ll hopefully be blogging the completed version soon. Until then – check out my spectacular feathers!

This is absolutely beautiful, what a labour of love. I have a mass of peacock feathers in my bedroom. I lent my bed to a friend once who was visiting and in the morning I found she’d thrown them all out of the door onto the landing, she was adamant they were unlucky and couldn’t bear to share a room with them – I’d love to see her face presented with this as a duvet. Thanks for your kind comments on the show. Yes the black plinths for my phrenologies work well, can’t take any credit for it though as the curators did all the hanging and organising. If you haven’t found it already carolyns work is here:
